News > Still on the Fence about Condo Living?

While there are many wonderful home options in Reno, more and more home buyers are discovering the advantages of living in a condo.  If security, low maintenance, prime location, affordability, and an array of amenities sounds attractive,  condo living might be the perfect choice for you!

Affordability:  It’s true that condominiums can run the gamut in price range, but there are many affordable, beautiful condos to choose from in Reno. Those in the lower price range are often an appealing option to many first-time home buyers. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that affordable means “low-end.”  Many reasonably priced condos are newer to the market and feature high-end upgrades such as granite counter tops!

Reno’s Fallen Leaf at Galena, located off Mt. Rose Highway, is the perfect example. This attractive, gated community is an affordable choice and includes amenities like gas fireplaces, a pool, and an exercise room!

Location:  Condos are famous for their prime settings in downtown locations where they offer spectacular views. Nestled in the heart of the city where land is at a premium, they provide their residents with convenient access to the city’s best, including restaurants, shops, casinos and museums.

For downtown Reno, its all about the river. Many of the units in Arlington Tower offer panoramic views of the beautiful Truckee River, the city, and the Sierra Nevada mountains.  The Palladio offers luxurious living right on the banks of the river, and Riverwalk Towers places you right in the heart of downtown Reno. How’s that for location?

Amenities: Who doesn’t want bang for their buck? Many condo communities take pride in offering their residents a variety of luxurious amenities.  Who needs an expensive gym membership when you have your own exercise room, pool, and spa within walking distance of your front door?

One of Reno’s newer condo developments, Fleur De Lis, is a prime example of a condo community loaded with amenities to pamper and spoil. It features a 20,000 square foot club house with movie theater and game rooms, a state of the art fitness center, a pool and sauna, all tucked within a secured, gated community.  How’s that for amenities?

Low Maintenance:  Condo owners pay monthly condo fees which are used towards the maintenance and repair of the common areas.  Sit on your spacious patio or balcony and enjoy the beautifully landscaped grounds knowing that you don’t have to lift a finger. No more weeding, mowing the lawn, or shoveling snow. No more worrying about the age and health of your roof and outside painting costs. Enjoy some R & R at the pool – you don’t have to add the chemicals or sweep the leaves out!

In addition, if you enjoy your condo for only part of the year, you don’t have to worry about who’s going to take care of your home in your absence.  How’s that for low maintenance?

Security:  Many condo communities are gated and some offer patrol or concierge service. There’s also something to be said for the security that your nearby neighbors provide.

Condo owners like to lock up and leave spontaneously. Owning a condo, as opposed to a single-family residence, makes it easy to do so.  Whether you enjoy extended vacations or only live in your condo for part of the year, your neighbors  are usually happy to keep an eye on your unit while you’re away. They’ll notice if someone unfamiliar is prowling around. How’s that for security?
